rubber linings in the workshop

In the case of rubber linings in the workshops the rubber lined part will be vulcanized in an autoclave at a higher temperature (120 up to 145°C) and overpressure (3 to 6 bar).

The bonding of the rubber to the base material is exceptionally durable, thanks to our special techniques. Typical problem areas such as seams are dealt with by means of technically perfected solutions.

Getting involved at every stage influence the quality, from production to final inspection. From selection of the materials via the specific components of the mix to production of the application-ready rubber sheet, every step is carried out in our plants.

If you want to guarantee consistently high quality, you must ensure continuous quality testing. KCH therefore tests all raw materials, rubber compounds and vulcanized. For this, it uses testing methods which conform to national and international standards.

Steps for rubber linings in workshops:

  • Applying the un-vulcanized rubber sheet
  • Vulcanizing of the rubber component in autoclave (pressure, temperature)
  • Vulcanizing with steam or hot water

Soft rubber:

In the field of soft rubber too, we are able to offer our customers the right solution for every area of application.

Mainly used are linings based on butyl rubber, the impermeability to gases of which is ten times higher than that of other types of rubber.
This property, alongside its good chemical resistance, makes this rubber an ideal means of corrosion protection.
The ®VULCOFERRAN 2206 rubber lining material is used for linings applied in our workshops and is notable for it’s excellent bonding and resistance characteristics in actual service.
The main areas of application are large tanks in the phosphoric and hydrochloric acid industry, and linings for flue gas scrubbers, flue gas ducts and pipework in coal and lignite-fired power plants. Here, these materials prove themselves by their long service lives and ease of application.

Hard rubber:

In the field of hard rubber, many different compounds are used depending on the area of application:
The polymers used are high-purity synthetic polyisoprene and styrenebutadiene rubbers.
For duties involving exposure to moist chlorine, rubber grades ®VULCOFERRAN 2105 and ®VULCOFERRAN 2190 are available with a good performance record in  withstanding these types of stress.
For general duties up to a service temperature of approx. 100°C, the rubber lining materials ®VULKODURIT D3 and ®VULCOFERRAN 2194 are used.
®VULCOFERRAN 2194 material can also be applied on site and vulcanized at approx. 100°C.
For very demanding conditions of service at temperatures up to 125°C, ®GENAKOR 022 rubber lining is used.
